Praxis, Inc., a leading-edge technology company in Arlington, VA, is searching for a full time Program Security Specialist for various classified, SAP and other special projects within our Engineering and Technical Services Group in the Washington, DC locale.

Responsibilities
This role will include, but will not be limited to the following:
• Act as a liaison between government FSO/SSO and Program Managers
• Understand security policies, identify and provide recommendations to security issues pertaining to facilities, programs and organizations
• Manage communication of progress/status in the processing of personnel security investigation packets, and maintain files on each cleared individual with the Program Manager
• Implement Special Access Programs (SAP) and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security policy, tracking of periodic updates and submission of required security forms
• Prepare for approval and conduct security awareness briefings and other annual training as dictated by applicable government security requirements (DCID, JAFAN, NISPOM)
• Prepare for approval and conduct program security briefings, and develop facility accreditation packages and Automated Information System (AIS) accreditation plans
• Participate in security reviews, security incident investigations and preliminary inquiries and surveys
• Coordinate site visits, ensure compliance with site access control requirements, and maintain up-to-date access lists
• Account for control program material to include performing inventory and destruction
• Provide security assistance within the Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) and other secure areas. Assist in the investigation and inquiries of security compromise, violations, incidents, or infractions per applicable IC Directives • Conduct routine inspections to ensure the adequacy of physical security, and report deficiencies in construction, alarms, locks and other security devices
• Ensure electronic and electromechanical devices, which process classified information, meet (or are modified to meet) Sponsor’s standards to control compromising emanations
• Assist program management team in security audits, file reviews and checks, promote security awareness to ensure system security, conduct weekly audits, software updates and back-ups
• Confer with users to discuss issues such as computer data access needs, security violations and programming changes. Assist/monitor current reports of computer viruses to determine when to update virus protection systems
• Coordinate implementation of computer system plan with government personnel and outside vendors
• Assist customer GSSO to conduct the following security activities: courier, escort, orientation and annual security refresher briefings and infraction and violation investigations as needed
• Conduct routine inspections to ensure the adequacy of physical security of media and documents and correct deficiencies
• Assist customer Security personnel with oversight of national security compliance programs and the protection of people, property, information and reputation over the area of assigned operations
• Assist customer Security through interfacing with representatives from other government agencies to schedule inspections, investigation incidents, and handle security related issues as required
• Provide operational, technical assistance and advisory services inclusive of administrative technical office policies, procedures and controls
• Assist Program Management with determining program access requirements and process personnel for access, plan, coordinate and manage security support
• Plan, coordinate and manage security support for meetings
• Assist in developing DD 254’s ensuring security requirements are clearly spelled out on initial contracts and ensure required security documentation is provided to the contractor
• Assist in the preparation and execution of security directives and guides develop security education bulletins, directives, security plans, procedures and controls as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications
• Associate’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline with five years of relevant experience or equivalent experience/combined education
• Information Assurance (IA) Experience
• Selected candidate must have a minimum of five years of hands-on experience with the intelligence community
• Knowledge and experience with DCID, JFAN, NISPOM, EPSQ, EQIP and JPAS is required
• Fundamental knowledge and practical experience with administering and enforcing special access and classified program security requirements and procedures, and facilities oversight requirements to include SCIF oversight
• Excellent computer skills with MS Office and effective verbal/written communications
• Candidate must be a highly motivated, self-starter with a progressive approach towards security processes

Security Clearances
• Must be a US Citizen
• Selected applicant will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements associated with access to classified information
• An in-scope (within 5 years) SSBI and a US Government clearance within the last 24 months is required
